On July 19th, 2025, Aoba Global Campus hosted an exciting and forward-thinking event that brought together families, educators, and university representatives to explore the future of global international education pathways. The event, which featured speakers from leading Japan-based universities offering English-taught undergraduate programs, showcased how students can build a seamless educational journey from online high school to globally recognized university degrees. The event began with an inspiring keynote by Chasen Stahl, Director of Aoba Global Campus, who introduced Aoba’s innovative vision for global online learning. He highlighted how Aoba’s Online International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) equips students not only with academic knowledge, but also with the critical thinking skills, cultural fluency, and digital literacy needed to thrive in a rapidly changing, globally connected world. More than just an alternative to traditional schooling, Aoba’s online programs open doors to future-focused, flexible pathways that meet students wherever they are - and take them wherever they want to go.

Following the keynote, attendees heard from representatives of three pioneering universities:
- International College of Liberal Arts (iCLA) at Yamanashi Gakuin University,
- University of Tsukuba’s Malaysia Campus, and
- Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU).
Each university offered unique insights into how they are preparing students for international careers through globally mobile, English-language undergraduate programs. They emphasized the importance of flexibility, cross-cultural experience, and hybrid models of learning that combine the best of online, in-person, and experiential education. These institutions are not just adapting to a global future - they are helping to shape it.

Event attendees - including parents and students - then had the opportunity to meet and speak directly with university representatives and Aoba Global Campus team members in order to more deeply explore programs and pathways of interest, and to receive expert advisement on the exciting possibilities for creating their own personalized, global educational pathway.

A common message echoed throughout the event: the future belongs to those who are globally minded, flexible, and well-prepared to navigate complex, interconnected environments. Whether through online high school programs or international university programs in Japan or abroad, the path to global success is more accessible and flexible than every before. Students are no longer confined to "one size fits all" education and are able to imagine and build their own global pathways to world-class international education thanks to the future-oriented program options that forward thinking schools like Aoba and our partners are actively developing. We’re proud to have hosted this important event and to continue playing a key role in building the bridges between K-12 and higher education, between Japan and the world, and between today’s learners and tomorrow’s leaders.
